The Cinematic Image of the Zebra in Al-A'sha's Poetry: A Semiotic Study

Abstract

The zebra has long raced against time in ancient Arabic poetry, striving toward the pleasures of life. This semiotic study examines how Al-A'sha used the image of the zebra as a cinematic device to convey movement, vitality, and the passage of time in pre-Islamic Arabic poetry.
